Skoop is an AI platform helping home-services professionals grow through better lead generation, lead maturation, and software that turns opportunities into durable customer relationships. We are starting in real estate, where we are building a more effective and partner-aligned alternative to the traditional lead platforms that control agents' brands, customers, and economics.

We are an early-stage team building products at the intersection of software, AI, and real-world service businesses. That means the work is broad, the problems are often ambiguous, and strong judgment matters as much as technical execution.

About the role

We are hiring an experienced Product Engineer who can independently take products from an ambiguous problem to production.

This is a hands-on, full-stack role for someone who is genuinely strong across frontend and backend engineering. You will work across product discovery, system design, implementation, deployment, and iteration—owning outcomes rather than waiting for perfectly written specifications.

The right person can move comfortably between a user problem and an architecture decision, choose the simplest system that meets the real requirements, and build with enough rigor to support the product as it grows. You will have meaningful influence over what we build, how we build it, and how the engineering function evolves.

This is not a junior or recent-graduate position. We are looking for someone with meaningful professional experience across frontend, backend, databases, infrastructure, system design, and product ownership.

What you'll do

• Own products and major features from problem definition through production and iteration.
• Turn ambiguous business and user needs into clear product and technical decisions.
• Build polished, reliable frontend experiences and the backend systems that support them.
• Design APIs, data models, integrations, background jobs, and infrastructure appropriate to each problem.
• Work across both serverless and traditional server-based architectures when the requirements call for them.
• Make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, simplicity, reliability, scalability, and cost.
• Avoid unnecessary complexity while leaving sensible paths for future growth.
• Investigate production issues end to end, identify root causes, and improve the systems and processes that prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate directly with founders, operators, customers, and other stakeholders to understand what should be built.
• Contribute to product direction, not only implementation.
• Help establish strong engineering practices as the team and product mature.
• Explore and ship AI-powered capabilities where they create genuine customer value.

What we're looking for

• Strong professional experience across both frontend and backend engineering.
• A track record of building products or major features from scratch and carrying them into production.
• Experience operating with substantial ownership—for example as a founding engineer, solo engineer, technical co-founder, technical lead, or similarly autonomous product engineer.
• Sound system-design judgment and an instinct for avoiding unnecessary overengineering.
• Experience with different architectures, including serverless or edge systems and traditional servers or containers.
• The ability to choose architecture based on actual requirements rather than habit or hype.
• Comfort working with relational or NoSQL databases, APIs, integrations, authentication, queues or background jobs, and production infrastructure.
• Clear thinking about trade-offs, including when a simple solution is the right solution.
• A product-owner mindset: you clarify the problem, speak with the right people, make decisions, and move the work forward.
• Strong written and verbal communication, especially when explaining technical decisions and trade-offs.
• The ability to work independently in a remote, fast-moving environment.

Strong pluses

• Professional AI engineering experience, including shipping AI-powered product features into production.
• Experience in real estate, mortgage, insurance, CRM, revenue operations, lead generation, or marketing technology.
• Experience building or operating multi-tenant, event-driven, or real-time applications.
• A history of learning new tools and domains deliberately, then applying that knowledge to improve how products are designed and built.

How we work

We value engineers who start with the problem, understand the real constraints, and then choose an approach that is proportionate to the need. We care about high-quality systems, but quality does not mean complexity for its own sake.

You should be comfortable making progress without a complete specification. That may mean speaking with a customer, examining how a workflow operates today, proposing a solution, testing assumptions, and refining the product after it reaches production.

Ownership here includes the full lifecycle: understanding the problem, deciding what to build, designing the system, shipping it, observing how it performs, and improving it.

This is a fully remote role open to candidates based in:

You should be able to collaborate effectively with a distributed team and communicate clearly across time zones.

Employment and compensation

• Employment type: Full-time
• Workplace type: Remote
• Salary range: $50,000–$100,000 USD per year

Compensation within the range will depend on experience, location, and the scope of ownership you can take on.
